Firefly / Serenity - Big Damn Heroes Lithograph Set #1 - Now Available
From Quantum Mechinix:
Mal, Inara, Kayee and Jayne Immortalized!
Serenity: Big Damn Heroes Lithograph Set #1
$29.95
We love our captain – and the rest of Serenity's crew. That's why we called on Steve Anderson, one of the best portrait painters in the business (and creator of the Battlestar Galactica Starbuck and Number Six portraits), and asked him to capture the Big Damn Heroes in a special series of lithographs. Being a big Browncoat himself, Steve gladly agreed to take on the daunting task of capturing the personality, character and spirit of each BDH.
The result is a breathtaking series of museum-quality 13" x 19" lithographs, printed on 100-pound, satin-finish paper. The first set – featuring Mal, Inara, Kaylee and Jayne – retails for just $29.95. That's right, four lithographs of Serenity's crew, painted by one of the most renowned portrait artists working today, for just under $30.
Capt. Malcolm Reynolds (Nathan Fillion)
Inara Serra (Morena Baccarin)
Jayne Cobb (Adam Baldwin)
Kaylee Frye (Jewel Staite)

Stargate Atlantis - NEW Behind the Scenes Photos - 'Remnants'
From Joseph Mallozzi's blog update for July 23, 2008:
(Please follow the link for the complete blog update and to view the NEW photos of Stargate Atlantis season five production in their original full-size, high-resolution format.)
David Hewlett (Rodney McKay), Director Will Waring, David Nykl (Radek Zelenka)
July 23, 2008: Burgers then Back on the Program then Remnants Day #2
...A quiet day in the office today as we wrap an early week. The production is shutting down for Comic Con as three of our actors (Bob Picardo, Jewel Staite, and Joe Flanigan) head south for a fun-filled weekend. Marty G., Brad Wright, and various members of the SG-1 cast will also be on hand. The Continuum and Atlantis panels will conclude with a video tribute to the great Don S. Davis.
David Hewlett and David Nykl
Alan finished his rewrite of Infection, Martin is prepping Brain Storm, Carl is poised to prep Identity, and Paul has broken ground on #20. With less than two months to go, it looks like it's going to be a mad dash to the finish line.
Chuck Campbell (The Chucknician) and David Hewlett
And, of course, for those of you wondering - I did swing by Stage 6 today and checked out David² in action. Lots of fun. Between scenes, we talked Vegas, the as-yet-untitled episode #20, and beyond. Who knows what the future holds? Well, hopefully we will sooner than later.
David Nykl
Mailbag returns tomorrow.
David Nykl and David Hewlett
Honest.

Stargate Atlantis - Alex Levine's Blog Update July 23 '08
From Alex Levine's SciFi.com blog update for July 23, 2008:
(Please follow the link for the complete blog update.)
July 23, 2008
Me First
...In any case, Joe had lots to say about Friday's episode, entitled "Broken Ties", a Ronon-centric episode that he wrote and produced. Firstly, he told me that Jason Momoa, who plays Ronon, gave a great performance. He showed a wide range of emotions, and allowed us to see Ronon at his lowest point, displaying a vulnerability not often shown by actors who play tough guy roles. It takes guts and talent, and this guy has both.
...By the way, I'm uploading this blog entry a little early because the production is taking Thursday and Friday off so some of our cast members and producers can attend Comic-Con in San Diego. For Atlantis, I understand Joe Flanigan, Robert Picardo and Jewel Staite will definitely be there, as will Martin Gero who will be moderating the SGA panel. Also, Ben Browder, Beau Bridges and Chris Judge will join Brad Wright to discuss the release of the second SG-1 DVD feature, "Continuum". I wish I was going!
Enjoy Friday's episode!

Stargate: Continuum / Atlantis / Sanctuary - GateWorld: Martin Wood Video Interview Part 2
From GateWorld:
(Please follow the link to view the video in its original size and/or read the transcript.)
MAN OF VISION
GateWorld talks with Martin Wood
Martin Wood has been involved with Stargate since the very first season of SG-1 and has directed nearly a quarter of the franchise. GateWorld has considered itself long overdue for an in-depth discussion with this influential producer. We spoke with him at the Stage 3 Media offices earlier this year.
In Part Two of our video interview, GateWorld talks with Wood about some of his favorite scenes from Stargate Continuum, memorable shows he directed over his decade-long run with the franchise, and his new personal frontiers with Sanctuary.
GateWorld's interview with Martin runs approximately 19 minutes. The video requires QuickTime 7.0 or higher. The interview is also available at GateWorld Play!

A brief excerpt:
GW: You've been doing this show for so long now, which of your episodes do you feel most withstand the test of time? Which are you most proud of?

A brief excerpt:
GW: You've been doing this show for so long now, which of your episodes do you feel most withstand the test of time? Which are you most proud of?
MW: You know, I get asked this a lot when people look at the volume of work. It's a very hard question for me to answer. I'd rather say "In this category, [these] are the ones I like." "In this category, these are the ones I like." "In this category, these are the ones I like."
Because truthfully, the evolution that's happened with me in my directing skill. "Skill" in quotation marks. The evolution that's happened to me as a director has really made a difference in how I like the shows. Because I look at some of the old shows and I go, "Hoo, hey ... I can't believe I did that."
But, you know what? One of my favorite shows is still "Solitudes." "Solitudes," "Small Victories," these are shows that I can watch over and over again and look past the directing and think, "Those are my favorite shows." Things like "Grace Under Pressure" was another one of my favorites. It was just David and Amanda.

If you're an X-Files fan, you know that Scully and Mulder carried on a confusing relationship throughout the series. Was it platonic? It seemed like more. Was it a romance? That seems like an overstatement. The complexity of their relationship provided the fodder for our latest TV Guide Broadband contribution. The new movie comes to theaters this Friday, and this was our way of celebrating its release.
