Wow and wow and wow.
I can't believe it. It's so beautiful. I am still crying. Seriously.
I still find it hard to believe that people go out of their way to support me. And that people take time out of their busy lives to send a message. I'm so amazed.
We just wrapped Sanctuary Season One on Friday night. It was very emotional and very rewarding. I am so proud of our cast and crew. We had a phenomenal team supporting us.
I am now starting post production for Sanctuary. ( a whole new learning curve for me!) I will also be travelling to promote the show. It airs October 3rd. Aaaahhhhhhhh! It's very exciting and scary putting our baby out into the world.
I hope the fans enjoy it. It looks astounding. The VFX will blow people's minds! Please watch! :)
I shoot Stargate Atlantis this week. I am very excited to be going back to my old stomping grounds. I definitely miss the people there!
And I also get to spend precious time with my family. The simple joy of watching swimming lessons or gymnastics. (Bouncy 3 yr. olds in leotards! Too cute!) I cherish every moment.
I have to say it again and again and again ..... Thank you! In my darkest hours of self doubt and fear, I can feel the love and support. You have no idea what it means to me.
Humbly and with much love,
Amanda

Exclusive extract from an interview with David Hewlett…
The Official Stargate SG1/Atlantis Magazine: How did you feel last season about McKay developing a relationship that led to a marriage proposal?
David Hewlett: It was neat. That episode was so funny because I came onto the set and was like, “Look, here’s the deal. You have a beautiful botanist on a little tropical paradise on Atlantis and what do I do? Panic? C’mon!” That’s what they are so good at doing with McKay. They put him in situations where anyone else would either enjoy themselves or excel. It’s like Moonlighting. You don’t want those things to work out where there is no tension any more. McKay single is a much more dangerous and entertaining character than when he was comfortable in a relationship. I’m hoping it will be revisited because it was such a final thing for her, and I don’t think McKay has figured it out...

Amanda Tapping discusses latest sci-fi role
By Staff ⋅ September 19, 2008
Stargate: SG-1 star Amanda Tapping discusses her latest role the 157-year old Dr. Helen Magnus in ITV4’s latest sci-fi signing, Sanctuary.
...The creatures in the Sanctuary are what most people would call monsters – why do you think Helen sees them differently? Her interest seems to go beyond dispassionate scientific enquiry.
...And what about Helen and Will? What do they make of each other?

Amanda Tapping discusses latest sci-fi role
By Staff ⋅ September 19, 2008
Stargate: SG-1 star Amanda Tapping discusses her latest role the 157-year old Dr. Helen Magnus in ITV4’s latest sci-fi signing, Sanctuary.
...The creatures in the Sanctuary are what most people would call monsters – why do you think Helen sees them differently? Her interest seems to go beyond dispassionate scientific enquiry.
AT: "Absolutely. She has a huge humanitarian passion and that’s why she brings on board Will Zimmerman. She sees that he has a gift that she doesn’t have, an ability to connect things and find out the real story, to empathise with these creatures and the ability to get them to open up. So she’s definitely a humanist. She chooses to surround herself with people that can do the things she may not necessarily be as good at, and it’s all because she cares about these creatures."
...And what about Helen and Will? What do they make of each other?
AT: "I think Helen finds him fascinating. He’s so idealistic, she see in him all the qualities that she admires, but all the qualities that she knows will probably get beaten out of him over the course of time. His idealism and purity of thought and the way he analyses things… she absolutely respects that, but I think she also realises that there’s going to come a time when he’s going to become a bit jaded. The world is not as kind as Will Zimmerman would like it to be! But she has a lot of respect for him.
There are a couple of episodes where there’s been this bizarre sexual tension between the two of them, and it’s by virtue of what’s happening in any given episode, especially in an episode called Requiem where Magnus goes a bit crazy. But generally there’s just a huge healthy respect – he’s the first real protégé she’s had..."

Stargate Atlantis - Joseph Mallozzi's Blog Update Sept 19 '08 - NEW Photos!
From Joseph Mallozzi's blog update for September 19, 2008:
(Please follow the link for the complete blog update and to view the NEW behind the scenes photos [in their original format] from Stargate Atlantis season five production, including photos of Amanda Tapping, Colin Cunningham, Robert Picardo...and someone sitting in a F302.)
September 19, 2008: Last Call
Production on Stargate Atlantis wrapped today for most of our cast and crew. As the sets go dark here at The Bridge Studios, the scene shifts to Vegas for a few more days of filming after which work on the series is finally complete. Well, almost complete because work continues for post, viz, the producers, and Joel Goldsmith who still have weeks to go before they can sail off into the sunset.
Yesterday, Bob Picardo came by the office after he wrapped and, as promised, took the time to sit down and answer some of your questions. Rather than do a video interview, we opted for a written Q&A which I’ll be posting next week as part of a special Bob Picardo guest blog. Speaking of guest blogs - Executive Producer/Writer Carl Binder has kindly agreed to field your questions and comments on Tracker. So, if you happen to catch tonight’s episode of Atlantis and feel like raking Carl over the coals on this one, let’s hear from you.
Amanda Tapping also swung by the office this morning to say goodbye. She’s been working very hard these past few months but still found the time to put in an appearance in our final episode. And it was a pleasure having her back. Colin Cunningham also wrapped his guess stint and made it a point to pop his head into the writers’ room and thank us...
...Final scene as per today’s call sheet:
INT. F-302 COCKPIT 1: Sheppard
Push in on the screen, word ARMED flashes
