For the third year in a row, Richard Dean Anderson attended the Quench the Fire 5K Run & Walk which was held last weekend to raise money for the USC Pain Center and its research and treatment of neuropathic chronic pain diseases. As a guest emcee, RDA helped to signal the start of the race, and he also met with fans and signed autographs. Some pictures and a short video from the event can be found in the Updates section of the website.
Richard has posted another quick note, encouraging everyone to visit the website of the National Resources Defense Council to learn how they can add their voices to help protect grey wolves.

Richard Dean Anderson had sent a message several weeks ago mentioning his involvement in the upcoming Stargate SG-1 movie and the new MGM series, Stargate Universe, scheduled to premiere on the SciFi channel this fall. MGM requested that his message not be posted until the information was released by the studio, but now that the studio has publicized RDA's upcoming appearances, his note from March 2nd can be posted. In a note earlier this week, RDA mentioned the MacGruber skits he had shot for Saturday Night Live. Apparently he didn't know at the time that three more skits (not commercials this time), were scheduled to air on Saturday Night Live later in the week.

Earlier in the month Richard appeared at the USC Quench the Fire 5K Run/Walk in Long Beach. There he acted as an honorary emcee and mingled with the fans and participants. Fans who attended the event have shared their pictures, and I have uploaded a selection of photos in the Updates section.

I've been busy the past couple of months preparing to buy a new home, but I have finally gotten back to the website and completed a few more updates this weekend.
First, you'll find information about the upcoming USC Quench the Fire 5K Run/Walk in Long Beach. RDA attended the event last year, and he is scheduled to return for this year's event on December 7th. Information is available to register for the event or to make a donation.
I was also contacted by Switched.com who offered their video from the Geek Squad event for the site, so I have added that to the Updates page.
And finally, I have had a lot of fun putting together many more shooting locations for MacGyver. These were the locations from seasons 3-6 that I found in Vancouver last summer. Many new SG-1 locations will also be added when I get a chance.
(And yes, I do hope to get back to the Gatecon updates and images!)
There are several new additions to the RDAnderson website this weekend.
First, I have added a few promotional images and videos from Continuum, courtesy of MGM. Most of these have already been seen elsewhere on the Web, but I have tried to make them in a friendly format for those who may wish to save or download.
Last week, on very short notice, Richard appeared in New York City as part of a promotional campaign for the launch of Best Buy's new Geek Squad Black Tie Protection. A few pictures and a video clip from the event have been posted in the Updates section.
I am slowly working my way through material from Gatecon - many thanks to all the fans who have offered to share their pictures on the site. I am still nowhere near ready to upload images, since there are hundreds and hundreds to sort through, and more are coming in, but the photo gallery is under construction. In the meantime, however, I have completed the first transcript. I have uploaded a transcript from RDA's Saturday panel at Gatecon, and I have included just a few pictures for now until the others are ready to be added.
Finally, after he returned from New York, RDA sent a message thanking the fans for the wonderful Gatecon weekend. His latest "Note From Rick," with a picture, has been added to the Updates.

It was a fabulous and very busy weekend, and more updates will be coming as I slowly return to reality.
This is the weekend of Comic Con International in San Diego, and RDA attended his very first Comic Con, joining fellow cast members from Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis. On Thursday night, a special premiere of Continuum was held aboard the USS Midway, and on Friday RDA and the cast participated in the panels and autograph sessions. On Saturday afternoon, RDA checked in from San Diego with a short message describing how much fun he has been having this weekend.
You'll find the latest "Note From Rick" on the website now, as well as a selection of photos and links from the weekend's activities. Also, the Lexicon continues to grow, and entries are now complete through the letter "O".
Remember, Stargate Continuum will be released on July 29th!
There has been some recent news from both Gatecon and Legends Memorabilia regarding Gatecon 2008, and I've added that new information to the Gatecon page on the Richard Dean Anderson website. Here you'll find information about how to register for add-ons like the banquet and the locations bus tour during the convention. There is also information about the pre-signed autographed photo that is included with the VIP tickets, and how to register so that you can have your autograph personalized. There will also be a lottery (coming soon) for 200 spots to purchase an in-person autograph from Richard Dean Anderson during the convention. You'll find all the links on the Gatecon page.
In addition, I've been continuing to expand the Stargate SG-1 Lexicon, and the entries are now complete from A through L.

I've added new updates to the RDA website this week.
First there is the very sad news of the passing of Don S. Davis last weekend. A brief "In Memoriam" has been added to the updates page, with a comment from RDA about his good friend.
The Lexicon is also continuing to grow. The entries are now completed from A to G, and I have also added two more appendices: the Goa'uld Pantheon, and a Goa'uld Dictionary.
There is an update with a new note from Rick -- including this tidbit of information:
Richard addressed several of the recent rumors on the internet. He had not heard the rumors about a MacGyver movie for the big screen, but he said that if such a project is in the works, he is not involved with it.
The rumor that he might appear at ComicCon in July is true, however. He will be a guest of MGM, and he expects to be at ComicCon for the preview of Continuum, which will be held aboard the USS Midway, and for a party being hosted by the Navy. Further details had not yet been set. He expects his appearance to be brief, although he joked that the person he most wants to meet there is Seth McFarlane of "Family Guy." "He's my new genius. That's a great show."

I've also updated the merchandise on the Store page. If any link on that page is used to access Amazon, then anything purchased during that visit to Amazon will count as credit toward the site, whether it was a direct link, or RDA-related, or not. But just to make searching easier, I've added a few more direct links for some of the more recent releases. Remember, Continuum is available for preorder now, and will be released in July!

The Lexicon at the RDA website is continuing to grow. In addition to the entries, which have now been completed up to "Celestis," I have also added the second of the appendices. This one is an illustration of military insignia, rank, awards, and ribbons for each of the main military characters.
Incidentally, I've been trying to include Lexicon entries for as many cameos and special appearances as I can. There will be many cameos by members of the Stargate crew, but I'd like to include some fan appearances as well. So far, for example, you'll find "Get in the Gate" winner Bonnie is listed, as well as Boomer, who played Cassandra's dog. I don't know all the fan cameos or walk-ons, however, so if you'd like to suggest one, feel free to let me know, and I'll see if there is a way to come up with a character name or description. (I haven't decided yet if I'll be including my own cameo!)

RDA sent another message to share a bit of the latest news about his ongoing surgery saga, and he also wanted to share his enthusiasm for Continuum, the latest SG-1 movie coming out this summer. He's seen the movie, and he loves it. His newest message has been added to the Updates page.
I'm also continuing to add to the Lexicon. I'll make announcements when milestones are hit, but you're invited to check in regularly as the entries slowly grow. I'm halfway through the letter "B" now. ;)
A new link has been added to the RDA site with information about a special auction for lunch with Richard Dean Anderson.
A special Earth Day auction is being held to benefit the Waterkeeper Alliance, an organization dedicated to preserving and protecting the world's water resources, and an organization for which Richard serves on the Board of Trustees. Among the items up for auction is an opportunity for a private lunch with Richard Dean Anderson in Vancouver in August. Other Stargate-related auctions are available as well, including lunches with Amanda Tapping, Joe Flanigan, and Jewel Staite. The auction runs through April 29th.
