Réunion Stellaire “STARGATE SG1” is back in Reunion Island in June 2008.

When the general interest wins over the rest …

it’s our creed today, after 2 hard - working years.

Why should we call off this event only if there are few available guests? Or if they can’t all be there at the same time?

We may made this mistake last year but for 2008, it’s out of the question to deprive ourselves of a new travel through the stars.

So we have decided to thematize Réunion Stellaire to avoid any delay. The Stargate SG1 Stars will be the first to land on our island in 2008.

It’s our pleasure to announce to you the official coming of Christopher Judge (Teal’c), Michael Shanks (Daniel Jackson) and Lexa Doig (Dr Lam in SG1 and Romie in Androméda).

Felt in love with Réunion Island in 2003, our friends from Stargate SG1 have decided to open the ball from June 27th to 29th, 2008 for an all-fun-inclusive program and unforgettable meetings with…you !!!

The tickets and the full « Reunion Stellaire events » schedule will be soon available on our website.

Stargate: Ark of Truth - GateWorld: Myth Maker Part Two

Myth Maker Part Two

GateWorld Talks With Robert C. Cooper

With the arrival of The Ark of Truth on DVD, the final chapter of the television series has finally been told. After seeing the film we had some questions about the Ori storyline that occupied the final two years of SG-1 -- so we went right to the source: Ark of Truth writer and director Robert C. Cooper.

In Part 1 of our in-depth interview Cooper discussed what it was about the Ori he finds so interesting, and what Season Eleven of Stargate SG-1 might have looked like. In the second half, he talks about the evolution of the Ori and their conflict with the Ancients, Daniel Jackson and the ethics of the Ark, and the controversial return of the Replicators.

Look for Stargate: The Ark of Truth now on DVD at stores everywhere!

A brief excerpt:

GW: Let's talk about Morgan a little bit more. Why did Morgan Le Fay go to the Ori galaxy? Did she follow the Odyssey there? We've talked in the past about how ascended beings are sort of located in space.

RCC: Yes. I think she was very conflicted about what to do. The last time she tried to help Daniel in a "guardian angel" capacity, in some type of interference, the other Ancients stopped her. She was pulled out of the Atlantis room in "The Pegasus Project." And I think that she has been following the team and walking the fine line of how to help us without breaking those rules again.

And so it was much like when Daniel was ascended and he appeared to O'Neill in the elevator in "Full Circle" to tell him about the device that Anubis was essentially gathering to make him powerful. He was walking a fine line there. He was acting like our guardian angel, O'Neill's guardian angel, and he was conflicted as to what he could and couldn't do. He ultimately ended up crossing the line as far as the other Ancients were concerned, and he was sent back and became human ("Fallen").

Stargate SG-1 - SciFi Wire: Goldsmith Talks Stargate DVD Scores

Goldsmith Talks Stargate DVD Scores

Joel Goldsmith, the longstanding composer for SCI FI Channel's original series Stargate SG-1, told SCI FI Wire that he used different approaches to creating the scores for the two feature-length Stargate movies arriving on DVD.

Stargate: The Ark of Truth, now in stores, used some of the themes Goldsmith set up in the series for the Ori and the Replicators, while the upcoming Stargate: Continuum allowed him to be more expansive in his approach.

"First of all, I could use a symphony orchestra rather than electronics that simulate an orchestra," said Goldsmith, who worked on SG-1 starting with the pilot in 1997. "And because the Ark movie wrapped up some of the stories so well, I reached for a few of the familiar themes from the Ori and Replicators and then created different situations and new themes for Teal'c. Of course, everything was more cinematic."

Continuum, which arrives on DVD in July, is more of a stand-alone film, Goldsmith said. "It is a great, old-fashioned SG-1 film," he said. "It is more retro-Stargate, and, without giving away too much, it's going back to some more things from the past."

Meanwhile, Goldsmith continues working on the spinoff series Stargate Atlantis. "This will be a fantastic season," he said. "People will be really happy with it. They did a great job."

Free Downloads: Our Stargate Favorites

5:50 PM PDT, April 7, 2008

The Stargate experience -- about interplanetary journeys made possible by cool, circular portals and liquid f/x -- started as a movie. Then it became a series that hopped from one network to another and didn't necessarily look like one of sci-fi's icons in the making ... except to its legions of fans. The show's landmark, 10-year run produced a spinoff (Stargate Atlantis), books, and the usual pop culture footprints, including episodes people still talk about.

Here are three of our favorites -- free, for a limited time:

The Torment of Tantalus
(season 1, episode 10): A vital chapter in the secret history of the Stargate on Earth is revealed, as we meet a man who went through the gate in 1945 -- and never made it back. The team finds him, and, maybe, the secrets of the universe. And yeah, that's Paul McGillion (later seen in Stargate Atlantis) starring the flashback sequence.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000ITT8EW/ref=dv_blog

Window of Opportunity
(season 4, episode 6): Stargate gets all Groundhog Day on itself with an episode where two characters find themselves reliving the same few hours -- and doing some pretty wacky stuff (including gate-golfing). I'll put it this way: It's a fan favorite for a reason.

The Lost City, Parts 1 & 2 (season 7, episodes 21 & 22): The two "Lost City" episodes were originally intended to be a second Stargate movie, and a conclusion to the series and the ambition shows. It ended up as the seventh-season finale and launch pad for Stargate Atlantis.

ITV4 gets new stylised US sci-fi series

Monday, April 7 2008, 14:51 BST

By Dave West, Media Correspondent

ITV4 is to air a new stylised sci-fi series from the makers of Stargate SG-1.

Sanctuary uses live-action actors with green-screen shooting and CGI to create a graphic novel feel along the lines of movie Sin City.

A 13-part series is in production for the Sci Fi Channel in the US.

Dave Fewings, ITV4 channel editor, said it would go to air in the UK later this year. He said: "Coming from the team behind Stargate and starring Amanda Tapping (Stargate), Sanctuary couldn't have a better sci-fi pedigree. It's absolutely at the cutting edge of the genre."

ITV seeks Sanctuary

Trade magazine Broadcast reports ITV4 has secured broadcasting rights to the first season of Sanctuary, a new show starring Stargate-SG1 and Stargate: Atlantis star Amanda Tapping, which started life recently as Internet webisodes. The 20-minute web pilot gained more than 500,000 online viewers on debut.

The show centres on the dangers caused by genetic mishaps and, perhaps, deliberately engineered genetic versions of “humanity”, a darker side to the evolution of mankind which has let monsters loose in the world -- but may be the key to the future of our race.

Each webisode of Sanctuary follows the exploits of Dr. Helen Magnus (Amanda Tapping, Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis) as she seeks out all manner of terrifying and monstrous creatures.

Also in the cast are Dawson's Creek actor Robin Dunne who plays reluctant protege Will Zimmerman and Emilie Ullerup, (seen in Battlestar Galactica), who plays Helen's intrepid, if somewhat reckless, daughter Ashley. Together they are drawn into a frightening and mysterious world populated by beings that defy explanation.

April 6, 2008: A Sunday Matinee

**snippage**

...Or that time I attended the Stargate: Continuum screening. Remember that time? No?

Of course you wouldn't, because it happened today. It was a special matinee screening of the (finally) finished movie held this afternoon in Vancouver, and among the attendees were some twenty lucky fans who got a sneak peek at Continuum. On the big screen no less.

Alas, no post-screening dessert on this day, but still - one hell of a show. Stargate Continuum is fantastic. Not only is it a treat for long-time fans, but it's a great jumping-on point for anyone interested in checking out Stargate for the first time. Funny, touching, exciting, and chock full of surprises, it's going to thrill
a lot of people.
