About the charity : Hearing Dogs For Deaf People
Hearing Dogs for Deaf People trains dogs to alert their deaf owners to sounds such as the telephone, doorbell or smoke alarm. Most dogs are selected from rescue centres, giving unwanted dogs useful and happy lives to the benefit of deaf people.

Gabit Events Ltd have been organising Events for the Stargate SG1 and Stargate Atlantis actress Amanda Tapping and her fans for four years and a major feature of those Events has been the fundraising we have undertaken on behalf of the UK charity Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.
To date over £29,000 has been raised and this has enabled Amanda’s fans to sponsor five hearing dogs, as well as providing additional funds for other purposes. It takes £5,000 to train and support a hearing dog throughout its lifetime and we are hoping to add a sixth dog to the ‘Gabit Kennel’ in 2007.
Our next Event,
AT3 – Amanda Tapping A Weekend with her Fans - Reunion
will take place in May and this site has therefore been set up with the aim of raising enough money to sponsor another hearing dog in Amanda’s name. It is open to anyone who would like to support this charity, whether they are attending our Event, or not.
Donating through this site is the Charity’s preferred method of receiving funds. It is fast, simple, secure and if you are a UK taxpayer you can gift aid your donation in which case an extra 28% will be added to your gift at no extra cost to you.
