The Dresden Files Audio Books Contest

From a press release at PR Web:

Buzzy Multimedia, Sci-Fi Audio Book Publisher, Announces Launch of Blog and Contest

Buzzy Multimedia announces the launch of their new blog, coupled with a contest where fans can win "Buzzy Bucks" and prizes.

Greensboro, NC (PRWEB) October 23, 2008 -- Buzzy Multimedia, a publisher of sci-fi and fantasy audio books, announces the launch of their new blog (http://blog.buzzymultimedia.com/). To celebrate the beginning of the blog, the publisher is giving away prizes to those that reply and discuss the articles. Fans have the opportunity to win $250, as well as other prizes.
"Science fiction fans are very loyal, and this is an opportunity for us to keep in contact with them. We are very excited about the launch of the blog, and think our readers will be, as well," explains Joy Poger, CEO and co-founder of Buzzy Multimedia (www.buzzymultimedia.com). "This is our way of sharing what we do with our fans and customers."

There are two ways that sci-fi fans can enter the Buzzy Bucks Contest. The first method is to visit the blog, read a post, then submit at least a three-sentence response. The second route is for a Web site owner or blogger to post at least five sentences about the new Buzzy blog on their site. Once either option has been taken by the contestant, the person will need to send an e-mail to info@buzzymultimedia.com with a link to the entry. Winners will be randomly selected once the contest ends on Monday, December 15, 2008. All winning names will be posted on the company blog.
"Entering the contest is as easy as responding to a post or putting a blurb about the new blog on your own site," says Poger. "This is a great way to let us know what our sci-fi and fantasy fans are thinking. The more we keep in contact, the better we can serve them."

The first-place prize is $250, the second-place prize is a set of "Dresden Files" audiobooks, and the third-place prize is a CD-MP3 audiobook of "Interlopers" by Alan Dean Foster and "Local Custom" by Sharon Lee and Steve Miller [narrated by Michael Shanks].

Buzzy Multimedia's authors include New York Time's Best-Selling authors Jim Butcher and Alan Dean Foster. Jim Butcher is best known for the urban fantasy series "The Dresden Files," while Alan Dean Foster's work includes science fiction and fantasy novels, as well as movie novelizations. The narrators for all the audio books are actors that have appeared on popular television shows, including James Marsters, from "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," Michael Shanks from "Stargate," and Ben Browder of "Farscape."

OMG !!! I loved Local Custom on audio. I highly recommend it. Buzzy has the first 3 chapters as free downloads. Michael Shanks' narration is engaging. Even if you are not an audio listener I highly recommend reading The Liaden Universe series.
