Was Sanctuary's Ashley killed off? Should she be?
Is Sanctuary's Ashley dead? After being transformed into Super Abnormal Ashley (Emilie Ullerup) by that nasty Cabal and leading an attack, she vanished in a fiery blaze on Syfy's supernatural series last Friday, rather than kill her own mum, Dr. Helen Magnus (Amanda Tapping).
While it's not much of a surprise that Ashley couldn't kill Magnus (which would have led to an abrupt end of the series, what with Magnus being the main character and all), whether Ashley will live or die isn't as easy to conclude.
After all, they just added another hip, hot girl character named Kate Freelander, played by Agam Darshi. Could she be Ashley's replacement? And, of course, the death of Ashley means kick-ass blonde Ullerup would be leaving the series...
So thumbs up or thumbs down? Should she live or die? What do you think?

Bad haircut and makeup, she actually looked better the last scenes in Eulogy.
The indian chick is hotter and edgier while Ashley was too stiff.
Plus Freeloader can antaogonize Bigfoot and maybe even hint at romance with Henry as well as having a smart alec repsonse to most things.
Besides, Ashley's not dead, just disappeeared.
And Doctor Who fans know thats just an excuse to bring them back later.
If the actress is not willing, there are plenty of ways to bring Ashley back and not the actress....
Thumbs up for the change since she was the only of the cast I would have wanted off.
Thumbs up to Sanctuary which has replaced Atlantis in my scifi rotation, even with the idiotic Tesla as vampire with british accent storyline.
Im surprised they didnt have Einstein as a golem.
Universe just isnt cutting it for me and I see more Galactica politicking and scheming coming up so I doubt they are going to hook me then.
So looks like Sanctuary is the one for me.
The new girl can't act her way out of a paper bag. She isn't even as hot as the character who played Ashley, so I don't know what they were thinking. I've read comments that the death of her daughter adds depth to the character of Magnus, but I have yet to see it. She seems to have taken her daughter dying to mean that she should act weak and confused all the time. True "depth" would be her going on a murderous, vengeful rampage against the Cabal that would atleast give fans of the show some satisfaction. But it seems like Ashley's death meant nothing, detracted rather than added depth to the Magnus character, and the addition of Kate has driven many fans away. All of these factors lead me to believe that the writers were not prepared to write out Ashley's character, which in turn means that it was either a sudden decision by the actress to leave the show, or some moron executive decided to fire her for some ridiculously stupid reason. At any rate, I, among many others, are boycotting the show until Ashley returns. If it's about money, then pay up, because whatever she was demanding is considerably less than the amount of money the show is losing from not having her on any more.
