Stargate SG-1 - FOX Stargate Hub Updated Aug 29

FOX's Stargate Hub has been updated with some more video clips, oddly enough, they're from SG-1's season nine episodes.

http://stargatehub.com/

The trailers are at the main page, immediately below the text box in the center of the page.

They are formatted in Adobe Flash Player 9.

The first clip is from "The Powers That Be."

The second clip is from a featurette with Robert C. Cooper regarding "The Village" that was built for SG1's season nine and SGA's season two.

There's also one NEW wallpaper in The Gateroom section. It's two blue Jaffa standing to the side of the SGC Stargate.

We turned off the main street and onto a back road that snaked through a heavily forested area, endlessly rising, falling, zigging and zagging - nothing but deep, dark wilderness to either side. “It’s beautiful,”remarked Larry, my driver. Hmmm. To me, it looked like an ideal place to dump a murder victim.

Eventually, we reached the end of the road - which turned out to be an even rougher trail that continued for another two miles before delivering us to an impromptu tree-lined parking area. I made the rest of the trek on foot, arriving by the water as they were setting up the first shot of the day, a “walk and talk” backlit by the rising sun. It was a beautiful scene, one of those rare instances that someone bears witness to only on those rare occasions he wakes up 5:00 a.m. and takes the 90 minute drive down to the location to watch it being shot - or, better yet, just watches it on t.v. months later.

**snippage**

No bears on set this day (the one we saw ambling across the trail on the drive back doesn’t count) but plenty of mosquitoes and the odd plane flying by to ruin a take or five. Apparently, there are cougars in the area, but they’re mainly up in the mountains and only come down when it’s dark - like, say, this Friday when we do the night shoot. Also, excitement galore and a near-disaster averted after quick action was taken to fix a tear in David Hewelett’s pants (“Them aren’t sitting pants!“I warned him.). Ah, show business!

Pics: You bet!

Win A Copy Of Stargate SG1 Season 10, Volume 1and Stargate Infinity

24th August 2007 11:47:03

Stargate fans are in for a treat on Monday 13 August as Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment releases two new series to add to Stargate collections. The critically-acclaimed, multi award-winning Sci-Fi adventure series Stargate SG-1, Season 10, Volume 1 and Stargate Infinity - the brand new animated action-adventure series are available to own for the first time on DVD.

Stargate Infinity follows four exceptional Air Force Academy cadets and a wrongly court-martialed Stargate veteran who must travel through the gated wormholes from one planet to the next in order to protect a mysterious alien creature from the sinister clutches of a new extraterrestrial enemy.

Stargate SG-1 Season 10 is the final adventure for the team and the last instalment in the SG1 collection. It sees the SG-1 military squad undertaking missions across the universe through the Stargates, encountering various alien creatures and cultures on their journeys as they set out on another mission to defend the earth from the unknown.

This new season is a historic one as it celebrates the 200th episode, making it the longest-running science fiction series on television, surpassing The X-Files and every series of Star Trek. Besides being the final season for Stargate SG-1, the 10th season also features the much-anticipated 200th and (final) episode, and the return of Richard Dean Anderson reprising his role as General Jack O’Neil for episode four (“The Shroud”).

It also marks the return of SG-1 favourites Carter (Amanda Tapping), Teal’c (Christopher Judge) and Daniel Jackson (Michael Shanks) – as well as newcomers from last season, Cameron Mitchell (Ben Browder), Vala (Claudia Black), Adria (Morena Baccarin) and veteran actor, Beau Bridges who plays General Landry.

Stargate SG-1 is an action-packed sci-adventure series involving a team of U.S. Air Force soldiers and scientists who use ancient portals in space called Stargates to travel instantaneously from their Stargate Command base in the Rocky Mountains to other planets to explore, forge alliances, defuse crises, establish trade and investigate mysteries.

Stargate SG-1 has become one of the most popular and longest running science fiction shows in television history and the DVD is packed full of ‘extras’ including audio commentary, photo galleries and a Moving Menus, making it a must-buy for any Sci-Fi or Stargate fans. Further volumes in the tenth series will be released between September and December this year.

Stargate SG1 is a Twentieth Century Fox Television production and has been nominated for over 60 Sci-Fi and television awards during its run.

Michael Shanks Visits Eureka and Returns to the Stargate

by Ileane Rudolph

For those who missed Michael Shanks battling a ginormous man-eating serpent last weekend in MegaSnake, Sci Fi's latest cheese-filled movie, not to worry. The actor who played Stargate SG-1's hunky brainiac Daniel Carter for a decade is now paying a visit to the genius town Eureka on Sept. 25 (Tuesdays at 9 pm/ET, Sci Fi). TVGuide.com caught the Canadian actor at the tail end of his vacation "playing dad” to his three kids, and invited him to share with us tidbits about that gig, the upcoming SG-1 DVD movies, and more.

TVGuide.com: Both you and your wife, SG-1 colleague Lexa Doig, have Eureka gigs. Hers is the week before. How did that come about?

Michael Shanks: She auditioned first. She knew the director from Andromeda — Michael Robison — so it was a bit of a shoo-in for her. She came back from a couple days' work and was raving about the experience and the cast. Then we flew off to Toronto for a vacation and while I was there, they offered me a role for the following episode. It just worked out bang-bang, in that kind of way.

**snippage**

TVGuide.com: Share some tidbits about both upcoming SG-1 movies.

Shanks: We had a way bigger budget than we ever did for the series, so the action scenes will be that much better. And the fans will definitely be happy with the way we wrap up the series in The Ark of Truth. It reintroduces our villains that we created during the last two years, and we deal with them in a very climactic way. It's a good payoff.

**snippage**

TVGuide.com: What's happening with the Rage of Angels pilot you and Judge were developing?

Shanks: We have a verbal greenlight from MGM, but we're waiting for Brad Turner, who worked with us for years on SG-1, and who's now a supervising producer on 24, to have a window of opportunity to direct. That may not be until next year.

TVGuide.com: So which angels do you play?

Shanks: He's Gabriel, the archangel, and I will be playing Lucifer.

TVGuide.com: Lucifer. That's juicy. How do you prep for that evildoer?

Shanks: You know, that's the $10,000 question. I think Lucifer is just a guy with daddy issues.
