Stargate SG-1 - Diamond Select Toys: Series 5 Action Figures

At Diamond Select Toys:

Toy Fair Preview: Stargate SG-1

The Stargate action figure line has already delivered six assortments (that's over 44 individual figures!) but Diamond Select Toys isn't finished with the intrepid cast of Stargate SG-1 just yet! Previewed here for the first time are some of the stars of the next release - Stargate SG-1 Series 5!

Air Force Jack O'Neill: Featuring O'Neill in his highly decorated US Air Force uniform, a highly requested fan-favorite depiction.

Black Ops Samantha Carter: Joining her previously released "Black Ops" SG-1 teammates, this figure is based on the season 2 premiere "The Serpent's Lair."

Horus Guard: The nefarious cousin to the traditional Serpent Guard, these misguided Jaffa served the family of Ra, including Ra himself and his son Heru'ur.

General George Hammond: At last joining his team in action figure form, the late three-star Lieutenant General is depicted in his US Air Force uniform.

Ba'al: Based on the Season 10 episode "The Quest," the scheming and conniving Ba'al is a former System Lord and the last of the Goa'uld.

As with past releases, each figure in this assortment will be accompanied by pieces of a key Stargate accessory - this time in the form of Stargate Command's armored and weaponized reconnaisance drone, the U.A.V. As a special bonus, a limited case topper figure will also be available from your local comic store in the form of Black Ops Cameron Mitchell.

Stay tune for more Toy Fair news and updates as this year's American International Toy Fair begins in earnest this Sunday, February 15th!

Questions and Answers # 15

DST Chuck tackles your questions about Battlestar Galactica and Stargate in this latest installment of Ask DST! Check out the full Q&A and find out the status of Stargate SG-1 Series 5, additional outfits for the 12" Stargate figures and much, much more!

Jack O'Neill 12" figure

Brian Petersen:
Will any alternate outfits be sold for the 12' Stargate figures?
DSTChuck: We do not have any plans to sell the outfits individually, but if the response is solid we'd love to make more 12" figures.

Callum Templeton:
Any Chance of the aliens from First Contact? And could you tell us what accessories Ronon comes with? Thanks.
DSTChuck: Not sure yet on aliens but I don't think so. Ronan comes with his blaster, GDO, P90, knife and sparring sticks.

James White:
Thanks again for taking time for these questions. I have a question this time about the 12" Stargate figures. Do you plan to release any accessory packs or different uniforms for these figures? It would be nice to have some offworld gear for them.
DSTChuck: NO problem, thanks for taking the time to write in. Right now, we don't think the line has enough depth to produce something like that, but yes - if the first three figures do we'll we'll add more to the line and mix in new accessories as well...

Cameron Mitchell 12" figure

Stargate Atlantis / SG1 - Diamond Select Toys: Blog Update Sept 19 '08

From Diamond Select Toys' Art Asylum Blog update for September 19, 2008:

(Please follow the link for the complete blog update.)

Stargate Atlantis series three action figures, available Nov. 26 '08

September 19, 2008 : Ask DST Q&A #7

This week it's all about Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis and Battlestar Galactica! Chuck answers your questions about character selection (we get it, you like Carson!!!), likeness rights and approvals as well as the status of classic Battlestar Galactica figures!

...Leesa Perrie
Please can we have more Stargate: Atlantis figures? Especially Carson Beckett and Radek Zelenka, though Major Lorne and Chuck the technician as well would be great! In fact, the more the better. Even though the show has been cancelled, fandom is and will still be going strong for some years, as the fandom for Stargate: SG1 is still going strongly, so please don't abandon the franchise. Thank you.
DSTChuck: As of now we have no plans to stop making Stargate figures of either franchise.

...Brian Petersen
For the sake of Matching, will we ever get to see a bare-armed and tattooed Starbuck figure to match with the Sam Anders? Or is it possible we might see a Viper Pilot Anders? It'd be great to see the couple match. Will Laura Roslin and Bill Adama be featured with or without glasses? If they are, will the glasses be removable much like Daniel Jackson in the first wave of Stargate? I really love the increase in interesting accessories that come with the Stargate lines and I noticed in the past that whenever a wave gets delayed, usually we get more accessories than originally shown at Toy Fares and Comic Cons. Was Wave 3 of Atlantis delayed because of some new accessories we may be receiving? Any Anti-Replicator Guns (that were prominent in Season 4) by chance? In a past toy show, I saw a photo of potential garrison uniforms Carter and Teal'c that had a tag marked "pending approval." Will we eventually see these? Why was the field Ops Weir changed to a black ops paint job? I was really looking forward to the one with original paint job. Any chance of this being an exclusive release in the future? Will the Season 10 2-pack Teal'c figure include accessories that didn't come with the Black Ops Teal'c or no accessories at all? Also: Is his hair painted or is it a simple re-release. Sadly, none of the existing pictures of the figure show the white patch the character has in Unending.
DSTChuck: Umm ok WOW that's a bunch of questions! Let me see if I can cover them all..

We have no plans to "match" all the characters we do, but yes there are some more cool versions we can do for Starbuck and Anders.

We're not sure about the glasses yet but if we do them we'd lean towards removable.

There is no relationship between delays and accessories. The main reason you end up seeing more as we go along is we don't like to bring lots of accessories to shows, they end up getting lost and are hard to display well.

The BDU outfits were shown when we first started with the license to gauge interest in exclusives. We sold some exclusives but decided to pull back on that idea for SG and keep it tighter. We've releases SOME of those outfits as time has gone on and if we can we'll get as much of the original team out as we can.

Honestly I don't remember the reason for the Weir change, sorry.

The Season 10 two pack will come with the much requested transport rings.

And last… yes, Teal'c's hair will have the white streak in it.

...Kevin Gomolchak
After Stargate: Universe premieres, will there be figures made for the show like the other series?
DSTChuck: We're interested for sure! We'll have to see what the show looks like and how the fans respond before we commit to figures.

SG1: Ark of Truth - Action Figure Contest! Cam, Vala & Prior

From Snap Shot Chronicle's 'SciFi Sunday':

http://snapshotchronicles.com/2008/03/30/scifi-sunday-stargate-sg-1-ark-of-truth-review/

The giveaway:

Long story short, I have some extra SG-1 action figures. Mitchell, Vala and the Ori Prior. I’m going to give away one of each at the end of April and the remaining three when the second film, Continuum, is released this summer.

Lt. Col. Cameron Mitchell action figure (Ben Browder)

Vala Mal Doran action figure (Claudia Black)

Prior action figures (based on William B. Davis from SG1's season 9)

How to enter: As I admitted above [there's a review of AoT at the site], I had a hard time getting into the SG-1 characters until Ben Browder and Claudia Black joined the cast. Especially Daniel Jackson. I don’t dislike the character, and the actor Michael Shanks does a fine job. I just find that I don’t really care what happens to the character, and I need that to remember to tune in week after week.

So, in the comments on this post, tell me why I should like Daniel. Are there specific episodes to watch that you think would “bring me over?” Or if you happen to have the same problem I do, share. Why do you have a hard time connecting with the character of Daniel Jackson? Is he really that much of a cold fish?

To enter the April giveaway:

* Leave a comment on my SciFi Sunday: Ark of Truth review. Tell me why I should give Daniel a chance. Or not.

* I’d be thrilled if you shared this giveaway with friends or readers of your own blog if you wish, but it is NOT a requirement to enter.

* I will give away one figure for every 10 comments on the blog. In other words, I will give away ONLY the Mitchell figure if I get 10 or less comments. 20 or less comments, Mitchell and Vala. Anything over 21 comments, I’ll give away all three figures in the first giveaway in April. Same rules will apply for the later giveaway.

Entries will close on Wednesday April 30, 2008 at 11:59pm Eastern Time. Winners will be selected using a random number generator and announced on Snapshot Chronicles on May 1. Using the relevant number limits as above, the first comment selected will get the Mitchell figure, the second, the Vala figure and the third, the Prior figure.

Giveaway open to adult residents, 18 years or older, of the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii. Void where prohibited.

Stargate Atlantis Action Figures

A spinoff series spawns an impressive set of action figures that will even help you build your own Stargate

Stargate Atlantis Action Figures
By Diamond Select Toys
MSRP: ~$16 each

By Sean Huxter

Stargate SG-1 has been one of the longest-running science fiction shows on TV, and certainly one of the best. But it almost always concentrated on the -1 part—the fact is, however, that the Stargate project has more than one team that makes its excursions through the Stargate. So when it came time for a spinoff series, it's small wonder a new team was introduced. This team travels through the Stargate to the Pegasus Galaxy and discovers Atlantis—yes, the Atlantis. Not hidden beneath the oceans of Earth, as legend would have it, but the legendary Atlantis nonetheless.

The Wraith cuts an impressive figure.

This new team, led by Elizabeth Weir and military lead Lt. Col. John Sheppard, becomes trapped on the planet Lantea, on the submersible, highly technological (but very ancient) city of Atlantis. While there they discover a dangerous new enemy, the Wraith.

Diamond Select Toys has created several sets of action figures based on this spinoff series, the first of which includes Dr. Weir, Lt. Col. Sheppard, Field Ops Weir, Field Ops Sheppard and a Wraith. Each figure is just under 7 inches in height, and is to scale with previous Stargate SG-1 figures, so they can all form a huge happy family. (Incidentally, they are also to scale with their Star Trek and Battlestar Galactica figures.)

Stargate Atlantis - SGA - Diamond Select Toys - Series 3 Action Figures

From Diamond Select Toys:

http://www.diamondselecttoys.com/article.asp?ai=67394

DST Dials Up Stargate Atlantis Series 3!

The People's Choice Award-winning Stargate Atlantis is approaching its fourth season finale just as DST is putting the finishing touches on the third assortment of action figures based on the sci-fi gem. Not only will this series see the inclusion of all-new characters, but it will also include some familiar faces to Stargate SG-1 fans!

Due in stores this fall, the third series will feature Colonel Samantha Carter in her new Atlantis-style uniform, the fan-favorite Dr. Jennifer Keller played by Firefly’s and Serenity’s Jewel Staite and one of the muscle-bound Wraith Drones. Also included in this assortment will be an all-new action figure of Lt Colonel John Sheppard sporting his all-black base attire – perfect for those top secret “black ops” missions. Last but certainly not least, the no-nonsense former “runner” Ronon Dex will be released along with this series as a Previews exclusive available in comic book and specialty stores nationwide!

Our first series of Stargate Atlantis action figures was released earlier this year and will be followed by the second series featuring Dr. Rodney McKay, Teyla Emmagen and a Wraith Queen – due in stores on March 26th. By combining the six different pieces included with these two waves, fans will be able to create their own figure-sized Atlantis-style Stargate – a bonus first used for our Stargate SG-1 action figure releases.

Stay tuned for more updates and images of this developing line as the Stargate Atlantis universe continues to expand!
