10 developments will change everything on Eureka (spoilers)

By Kathie Huddleston
ON 07/09/10

On tonight's season four premiere of Syfy's Eureka, everything will change for our heroes, said Eureka's creator and executive producer Jaime Paglia in an exclusive interview. And don't expect things to go back to normal anytime soon. The repercussions from "Founder's Day" will follow the characters all season long.

To get the scoop about the new season, we talked to Paglia, and the show's stars, Colin Ferguson, Salli Richardson-Whitfield, and new regular James Callis about the game-changing season premiere, why dinosaurs might be visiting Eureka, and why James Callis feels like he's living in an alternate universe...

SGU's hot doc has got some spoilers for you

By Patrick Lee

Syfy's Stargate Universe has amped up the action and taken the story into intriguing directions in the second half of the first season, and smokin' hot star Alaina Huffman (who plays Lt. Tamara Johansen) teased us with the adventures to come in an exclusive interview.

SGU airs Fridays at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

Huffman also talked a bit about her return appearance tonight on The CW's Smallville, reprising the role of Dinah Lance/Black Canary, in the season finale that airs at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

A brief excerpt:

It was notable right from the start of the second half of the season that the action and adventure element of the show had really been amped up. Was that a deliberate choice, you think?
Huffman: The season itself was completed almost by the time we aired. We wrapped October 28th, and it aired October 3rd. ... So, yes, I think the intent was to introduce the characters, develop the characters, and then put them to work. And that seems to be the way that it's gone.

He said he'd be back: Eureka's 'Fargonator'!

If you're like us, you can't wait for Eureka's return in July, so here's a sneak peek at, um, well, just watch it.

It features a very game Neil Grayston in the buff as "The Fargonator."

Here's the official description of Eureka's fourth season, which debuts July 9.
Eureka—Fourth season debuts Friday, July 9, at 9PM (ET/PT)—Eureka kicks off its 4th season with the introduction of new series regular James Callis (Battlestar Galactica) as "Dr. Grant," a former resident of the town whose unexpected return is cause for serious alarm and, considering his romantic interest in Allison Blake (Salli Richardson-Whitfield), significant friction with Sherrif Jack Carter (Colin Ferguson). New and returning fans won't want to miss the big changes in store for everyone in the small town of Eureka after a cataclysmic shift turns their lives upside down. Eureka also stars Joe Morton ("Henry Deacon"), Erica Cerra ("Jo Lupo"), Neil Grayston ("Douglas Fargo"), and Niall Matter ("Zane Donovan"). Co-creator Jaime Paglia and Bruce Miller are Executive Producers. The series is produced and distributed by Universal Cable Productions.

New trailer for Splice highlights a new kind of creature

By Patrick Lee
ON 04/02/10

A new trailer has gone live for Splice, the new sci-fi creature feature from American-born Canadian director Vincenzo Natali (Cube), below. It gives us a much better idea of what the central creature is, and she's not exactly what you'd expect. [AND co-stars Stargate Atlantis' David Hewlett!]

The trailer also features the film's new tag line—"Science's newest miracle is a mistake"—and a June 4 release date!

Splice offers a creepy cool take on the genre and stars Adrien Brody (King Kong) and Sarah Polley (Dawn of the Dead) as two scientists who marry human and animal DNA to create a new creature, with disastrous results. Guillermo del Toro produced.
