Buffy the Vampire Slayer's James Marsters guests at Supernova Pop Culture Expo

JAMES Marsters - the man best known to millions of Buffy the Vampire obsessives as Spike - is in Melbourne to attend the Supanova Pop Culture Expo at the Royal Melbourne Showgrounds from Friday April 16 -Sunday April 18.

The fan event also features Star Trek Kiwi Karl Urban, Parker Lewis himself, Corin Nemec, Twilight wolf-boy Alex Meraz, a bunch of comic book creators and more.

Herald Sun Hit caught up with Marsters before he flew to Australia, interrupting a Marsters family jam session. “My son, my father and I are all playing ukulele, it’s crazy,” Marsters said.

Marsters, who has also appeared in the film Dragonball, and TV shows including Torchwood, Smallville, Caprica and Without a Trace, had just returned home from shooting a new Hawaii Five-O pilot on the American island.

There are clips on YouTube of you and your son, Sullivan, performing acoustic songs, but your father gets in on the act too?
JM: "He started the whole thing. He’s been looking for a baritone ukulele for years but they didn’t make them anymore in America – or I couldn’t find one. I found myself, surprisingly, in Hawaii for a few weeks and I was able to track one down, so he’s a very happy man. I’m not a ukulele player by nature, but apparently the size of your ukulele is very important..."

... House of Bones

9/8c Syfy

If the cryptic recordings and anomalous readings recorded on Ghost Hunters leave you wanting more, and you've daydreamed about a scenario in which they run into something so spooky that there's no doubt the place is haunted, well, it might resemble something like this. Charisma Carpenter and Corin Nemec star in this made-for-cable take on the reality show-paranormal investigator genre. — Michael Chant

House of Bones - Sneak Peek : Syfy Original Movie

Watch a sneak peek from the Syfy original movie "House of Bones." Movie premieres January 16 9/8C.

From Bullet Films:

Directed By: Jeffery Lando

Starring: Charisma Carpenter, Marcus Brown, Collin Galyean, Ricky Wayne.

A cheesy reality television show about haunted houses is being filmed at an old plantation home. Although the producers initially deny claims from their psychic special guest Heather (Angel, Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s Charisma Carpenter) that this house is actually haunted, a series of mysterious events suggests otherwise. Missing persons, inexplicable sightings of ghosts, and the deaths of the crew not only prove that this house is haunted, but seems to be alive. When pompous show host Quentin (Corin Nemec of Stargate SG-1) arrives to the house, he is warned of the happenings and attempts to save his colleagues. Trapped inside by the house itself, the remaining producers and crew must learn of the house’s gruesome past in order to defeat the evil forces and escape the house alive.

Stargate SG1 - GateWorld: Corin Nemec Video Interview

At GateWorld:

(Please follow the link to view the video in its original format and/or read the transcript.)

UNSUNG HERO

GateWorld talks with Corin Nemec

t has been more than five years since Jonas Quinn departed Stargate Command to help his people, the Langarans, rebuild a peaceful and prosperous civilization. During that time, fans of the character -- who was a regular member of SG-1 during Season Six -- have made actor Corin Nemec one of GateWorld's most requested interviews ever.

Now we're excited to finally bring you a special video interview with Corin! We caught up with the actor at Creation Entertainment's official Stargate convention in Vancouver, and talked about Corin's casting on the show, his decision to bulk up for the role, and the challenge of replacing a well-loved character. He also answers the question of whether he thinks Jonas's story is complete.

GateWorld's video interview with Corin runs approximately 15 minutes, and requires QuickTime 7.0 or higher. The interview is also available at GateWorld Play!

A brief excerpt:

GW: So when you look back on that experience now, the whole season that you spent there -- and you did an episode before and a few episodes after -- what stands out in your mind when you remember Stargate?
CN: It's interesting because working on Stargate, it's as cool as the show is to watch. The whole adventure of it, all the adventures that you go on, the obstacles you have to get over, the predicaments that you get caught in, the great writing, the dialogue, the different relationships. What I remember is I feel like I was on SG-1. You know what I mean?

As silly as that sounds, that's what it feels like. Because you film all those scenes you do, everything you watch on the show, you actually physically get to do. So it's like you lived it, in a weird way.
