Richard Dean Anderson - Amazon Armchair Commendary: VIDEO Interview

At Amazon's Armchair Commentary:

2008 Interview Vault: MacGyver Talks MacGruber

by Stephanie Reid-Simons on December 31, 2008

So when I met Richard Dean Anderson a few months ago, he was promoting his movie, Stargate Continuum (it's good; you should watch it). But I couldn't resist asking him about one of my favorite Saturday Night Live sketches, "MacGruber." Sometimes these kinds of questions are not greeted with grins. But Anderson has a healthy sense of humor about the iconic (and comedic) nature of MacGyver (ad-free episodes live here), and played along happily, bless him. P.S. That Rainn Wilson thing he talks about is here.

Battlestar Galactica - Amazon Armchair Commentary: Richard Hatch Video Interview

At Amazon's Armchair Commentary:

Up Close and (Too?) Personal with Captain Apollo

by Leah Weathersby on October 23, 2008

No, young ones, I’m not talking about Jamie Bamber. I mean the original Apollo--ace pilot and sensitive father of one (plus a robot dog)--portrayed by Richard Hatch in the 1978 version of Battlestar Galactica. (He also appears as ex-terrorist and would-be colonial president Tom Zarek on the new BSG.)

We were lucky enough to catch up with Richard a while back, and he took time to chat with us about 30 years of Cylon aggression, a new reality show in the works, and even his love life. (Ladies, it sounds like Apollo is still on the market!) --Leah Weathersby

Pushing Daisies - Amazon Armchair Commentary: Video Interview

At Amazon Armchair Commentary:

Exclusive Interview: Pushing Daisies

by Stephanie Reid-Simons on October 16, 2008

Wouldn't you know it? Just as I get into a TV series, it ends up at risk of cancellation despite critical acclaim. Such is the case with the whimsical and wonderful Pushing Daisies, which has lost a significant number of viewers this season (though it gained some back with its most recent episode). I got to meet the cast recently and they're a sweet, smart and engaging bunch. See for yourself! And start watching the danged show. It's like nothing else on TV. -- Stephanie Reid-Simons, TV Demander

Zachary Levi - Chuck - Amazon Armchair Commentary: Video Interview

At Amazon's Armchair Commentary:

Exclusive Interview: "Chuck" and Awe

by Stephanie Reid-Simons on October 07, 2008

So the thing you won't see in the interview below is the adoration in my eyes as I stare at Zachary Levi, star of Chuck. But that's OK. He's the one you should be watching anyway. He talks about where the show is headed in season two (find new episodes here), his character's romance with superspy Sarah and bro-mance with supergeek Morgan (Joshua Gomez, who appears in this interview as well). And stick around to the end to hear from "Captain Awesome" (Ryan McPartlin), who discusses the appropriate use of his character's favorite word. -- Stephanie Reid-Simons, TV Demander

Michael C. Hall - Dexter - Amazon's Armchair Commentary: Video AND Audio Interviews

At Amazon's Armchair Commentary:

Amazon.com's Exclusive Interview with Michael C. Hall (Dexter, Six Feet Under)

When I got a chance to cruise down to L.A. and interview one of my favorite actors on TV, Michael C. Hall, I jumped out of my chair and headed for the airport. He hasn't done a lot of interviews, and I fully confess that Showtime's Dexter is easily my favorite show on TV right now. If you haven't watched it, at least check out an episode or two on Amazon.com. I guarantee you'll get hooked. Heck, if you trust me, just get both seasons now.

Enough of my rambling!

Video interview runs 4 minutes 44 seconds.

Audio interview

Stargate: Continuum - Amazon's Armchair Commentary: Video Interview

At Amazon.com's Armchair Commentary:

Dorking It up on the Red Carpet

by Leah Weathersby on August 01, 2008

Forgive me, Stargate fans, but it was my first time during red carpet interviews. (Hey—you have to walk before you can run!) If you can get past the background noise and shaky cam, you may be interested to hear cast members from Stargate Continuum (speaking directly from the star-studded, red carpet premiere) share their thoughts on their favorite SG-1 episodes, highlights from the movie, and what it's like to film in the Arctic. (Cold.) Big thanks to my interviewees--unlike me, you were super cool. --Leah

(The video runs 13 min 27 secs. Interviewed are Ben Browder, Amanda Tapping, Michael Shanks, Cliff Simon and Beau Bridges. Brief glimpses of Christopher Judge, Richard Dean Anderson and Robert Picardo in the background.)
