Life's Final Moments

By Ileane Rudolph April 08, 2009 08:29 AM EST

Life ended it second season tonight (9/8c,NBC). Though critical praise has been high (the quirky detective show was on AFI’s Top Ten list in 2008), ratings not so much. Executive producer and creator Rand Ravich talked to TVGuideMagazine.com about the season finale and hopes for another year.

A brief excerpt:

How will this episode affect Reese and Crews’ odd couple relationship?
We find out what Crews has been searching for since he left prison. He thinks he’s searching for an answer to what put him away, but really, he’s searching to find himself. What he needs to understand is you find yourself by being with other people. He’s had these unsatisfying relationships with women and there’s been a person sitting in the car right next to him who has been there through everything with him. He needs to understand that perhaps the most important person in his life, though not necessarily on an ongoing romantic level, is Dani.

Breaking: Spock (aka Leonard Nimoy) cast as 'Fringe's' William Bell

By Korbi Ghosh

April 08, 2009

UPDATE: FOX has confirmed to me that Nimoy has indeed been cast as William Bell

If FOX is worried about the ratings for "Fringe" -- which fared okay in its return last night, though lead in "American Idol" definitely pumped its numbers up -- Mr. Spock may soon be providing the network with a bit of relief.

Trekkies not already watching "Fringe" will likely rethink that decision come next month when, according to http://fringetelevision.com, "Star Trek" legend Leonard Nimoy will join the show as William Bell, the founder of Massive Dynamic and Walter's Harvard lab partner from back in the day...

SyFy's Stargate Universe will kick off with help from two familiar faces this fall. Richard Dean Anderson and Michael Shanks will reprise their Stargate: SG-1 roles in the series premiere of Universe, which is billed as a darker, character driven sci-fi show.

Shanks' appearance will be a one-time cameo, according to consulting producer Joseph Mallozzi. Anderson, however, will make multiple guest appearances in Universe in addition to showing up in the two-hour premiere. The actor said he would make "slim appearances" in the first "half dozen" episodes or so...
