NEWS

STARGATE HEAVEN

Though we've bid a spectacular farewell to Stargate SG-1, the official magazine goes from strength to strength. We reminisce over 10 years of Stargate SG-1 action and look forward to the future of Stargate: Atlantis and beyond. With exclusive set access, interviews and features, it's your gateway to fan heaven!

STARGATE: ATLANTIS RENEWED!

After weeks of speculation, SCI FI Channel has announced that Stargate: Atlantis will be returning with 20 new episodes in 2008. Executive Vice President of Original Programming, Mark Stern, said: "SCI FI is proud to bring Stargate: Atlantis back for another season. It truly came out of under the shadow of its sister series this year,
and proved that it was a hit in its own right."

FEATURES

Paul McGillion

It was the news every Stargate: Atlantis fan wanted to hear! For a limited time only, Dr. Carson Beckett will return to Stargate: Atlantis, and to mark the occasion we interview actor Paul McGillion. The Scottish actor gives his thoughts on Beckett's demise, the fans' reaction, and of course, returning to the Stargate: Atlantis set: "I said hi to David, Amanda Tapping, Joe Flanigan, and the crew. They
gave me a round of applause, which was nice, and I almost started crying again. I did feel like I was picking up where I left off."

A Galaxy Far, Far Away

The Official Stargate SG-1/Atlantis Magazine takes you way beyond what you see on television, offering the in-depth features and articles that your loyalty deserves. In this issue, we take a trip through the history of the Pegasus Galaxy, from the arrival of the Ancients to Team Atlantis setting foot in a 10,000-year-old city – and everything else in between! Plus, as Phoenix launch a new set of Stargate SG-1
miniature figures, we take a trip to a model shop in rural England to see where the magic happens.

Joe Mallozzi

Executive Producer Joe Mallozzi gives his thoughts about the last year of Stargate SG-1, and his first year as show runner on Stargate: Atlantis, including the lowdown on the future of the show: "Creatively, I feel really good about season five although I felt that way about an 11th season for Stargate SG-1. Without doubt, I would say season four is the best season we've done. Everybody in the writers' room agrees and hopefully the audience will too. It's not just in terms of the big arcs, but specifically the small things."

Issue Spotlight

Rachel Lutrell

We've been introduced to Teyla Emmagan's hitherto unseen dark side in season four of Stargate: Atlantis, but actress Rachel Lutrell's real-life pregnancy has finally allowed the show's writers to explore Teyla's hidden depths. In this issue, Lutrell reveals all about playing the Pegasus Galaxy's most noble warrior.
